Delivery to and from an auction

You may not be aware of this, but most auctions charge storage fees after a short period of time has elapsed from the purchase date. Most of the time, your storage fees will start occurring before you can get a transporter (open or enclosed) to pick up your vehicle. Please keep this in mind when budgeting for your purchase.

Many Auction buyers tend to call around requesting immediate pickup before storage kicks in and this is not a realistic situation. In many cases, the buyer can be accommodated, but it is due to luck, timing and correct pricing. If you want to get your vehicle picked up from an auction in a timely fashion, you must pay the price to do so, otherwise, be patient while your shipping dates are being booked. Our drivers want to make sure they are transporting each one of our customers vehicles in a safe and timely manner.

Vehicle auction locations, usually, have a long wait and require a good number of documents to be in order, to be able to get a vehicle picked up. In some cases, the drivers must wait for hours for the auction to locate your vehicle and bring it to the transport truck. Once everything is in order, the auction house usually forklifts the vehicle onto the transport truck and then the driver delivers it directly to you. Please be aware, when you are booking your shipment for the vehicle transport, if there are or are not keys present and if the vehicle is notated in running condition or not.

This is important information for your shipper to know before you book them to transport your vehicle, to assure they are sending out the correct type of truck for your needs. ed to be delivered during transport. Usually, the driver will have to load and un load and re load his whole truck to accommodate a non-running vehicle and this can take many hours to do safely.

It does take a little bit longer and can be a little more expensive to ship a vehicle from auction that has been wrecked, cannot roll or is considered inoperable. The reason for this is, the driver must position the vehicle in the correct spot on his truck to make sure and not block any other vehicles that need to be taken off during transport.

Please make sure when making your shipping arrangements for vehicles that are not in running condition, that you discuss with your shipper on how you will retrieve the vehicle. This is not the driver’s responsibility to make sure you made proper arrangements. His job is to pick it up and delivery it to you.

Ask your shipper about possible offloading options when you make your reservation to assure your shipment goes smoothly.
